Optional offers are common, even Adobe Reader offered (or still offers?) McAfee and such as additional bloatware in their installer. During installation, you can decline that optional offer. Some Antivir don't like bloatware in installers and falsely consider them as viruses (or potentionally unwanted programs, shortly: PUP). According to github, this optional offer came up November 2021, so, it did not exist back then when I suggested the Macro Software. Checking the most recent installer, I noticed the optional offer "Adaware Web Companion". The post of mine you commented, is 1 year old (also edited 1 year ago. If you have doubts, I recommend to create an issue on github, to ask the Dev about it. And even compile it yourself, to be double safe. You can check the code for suspicious things. I downloaded the installers and checked them. But the antivir results today were all negative. Did you get the software from a different source?įrom your post's date and time, I assume this happened basically today. First choice is sourceforge, second one is github. The download sources of the software are trusted. But since it was me who suggested this software, let me give you some info: So, I think you are complaining to the wrong one.
